Man who shot police officer, then self, identified
NAMPA, Idaho - A Nampa Police officer was shot in the head Thursday night, officials said in a press conference with local media.

Authorities say the 28-year-old officer, who's been with the department for almost three years, is talking and alert. Police said the officer suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Officials did not elaborate further on his condition.

The deceased suspect, identified as Patrick Green,27, killed himself with a self-inflicted gunshot. A handgun was found near the body.

Green was not a resident at the apartment, but there were other people present at the time, and they will probably be charged in connection with the incident, authorities say. They could face obstructing charges against officers.

No one was taken into custody Thursday night.
