PAYETTE, Idaho - A 4-year-old girl suffered second degree burns Wedensday after climbing into a dryer at a home in Payette.

Captain Toby Hauntz of the Payette County Sheriff's Office says the girl climbed into the dryer when another child apparently turned the dryer on.

Hauntz says four children were at the house when the incident occurred.

The girl suffered serious burns and was flown to St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise.

The girl's father, Joey Salsgiver, says the 19-year-old man watching over the child was responsible for the children and is at fault.

"I think he should be charged to the full extent of the law," Salsgiver told KBOI-TV. "I hope and pray he gets what's coming to him. I hope and pray Payette County does its jobs like it's supposed to."

Hauntz says four children were at the house when the incident occurred.

Sheriff's deputies say they consider the incident an accident and are not planning to file any charges.
