Cement block dropped on car from I-5 overpass, injuring woman

CRESWELL, Ore. -- A cinder block came crashing through the windshield of a passenger car early Sunday morning as it drove under the Interstate 5 overpass in Creswell, sending a woman to the hospital.

State police are asking for the public's help in findng the person or people who threw the block off the Creswell overpass.

The incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday when Michael Becker, 28, of Roy, Washington was driving north on Interstate 5.

State Police officials said the block went through the car's windshield and hit passenger Tiffany Becker, 30, also from Washington, in the face. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Michael Becker was not hurt, officials said.

Witnesses told state troopers that a group of four people, two riding bikes and two on skateboards, were in the area roughly at the time as the block hit the Becker's car. Officials said they aren’t sure if the group is connected to the person who dropped the block off the overpass.
