Bomb squad robot helps lure suspect out of hotel room in Nampa

NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) -- A 24-year-old Caldwell wanted man has been booked after police negotiators had to use a robot to make him come out of his Nampa hotel room early Wednesday morning.

Nampa PD said officers were trying to locate Angel Pena, who was wanted on a burglary charge, at a hotel on the 600 block of Northside Boulevard.

Authorities say Pena slammed the door on police and locked himself inside the room. Negotiators brought in robot who eventually made contact with Pena. Pena has been transported to the Canyon County Jail.
