BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- Residents in a home were evacuated due to a large grass fire south of Boise.
Another ten homes in the area had voluntarily evacuations as a precaution to the quickly spreading fire, according to the Ada County Sheriff's Office.
The Boise Fire Department did structure protection and helped crews from BLM and Kuna to knock the flames down.
The fire burned near Cole Road and Vallejo, which is south of the Interstate. Several fire trucks and engines responded to the area.
Fire officials estimate the fire burned about 300 acres of grass and sage brush.
Two Single Engine Air Tankers, or SEATs, attacked the fire from the air.
Ten Mile Creek Road was closed to traffic to allow fire crews access to the area.
Fire fighters expect to have the fire fully contained by Thursday, and they will spend the evening mopping up any hot spots that flare up.
