Police: Man arrested for pot grow after malnourished dogs seized

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Canyon County Animal Control says they received an anonymous tip Thursday morning that some animals were in bad condition at a home on the 16000 block of Orchard Avenue in Caldwell.
Deputies say that when they arrived at the house, they found 30 dogs showing signs of extreme malnourishment.
After getting an initial search warrant for the premises, officials say they also found an illegal marijuana growing operation.
The sheriff's office was called in and executed another search warrant for the marijuana.
Officials say the owner of the home, Jerry Krebs, 65, was detained and questioned about both the dogs and the pot.
The sheriff's office says he now faces 30 charges of animal cruelty.
On Friday, police arrested Krebs and charged him with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and marijuana trafficking.
He has been booked into the Canyon County Jail.
All of the dogs were taken from the residence and taken to a veterinarian to be evaluated.
The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate.

Do you people even do your homework about who you accuse of malnurishment and abuse to animals? Â Jerry Kreb is a world renowned dog breeder, runs field trials for bird dogs for over 30 years. Â We have one ourselves and with a little running they thin out quickly it is their natural physique. Â How embarrassing for a man who is just a lover of dogs! Â and good, well bread hunting dogs!
@SAL I have to say as a setter owner and lover. He hadn't been caring for the dogs. He may have in the past but it would seem his other habit took over and the neglect started. I drive past the house almost daily and it has become a sad site.
@SAL  Hard to dispute pictures. And pot. And "malnourishment", "reknowned" and "bred". Does that yard look like someone who cares about animals?Â
Please nail these "humans" to the wall.Â
