Cottonwood Fire southeast of Shoshone scorches 1,000 acres

SHOSHONE, Idaho (KBOI) - A new wildfire burning southeast of Shoshone is expected to be contained by late Sunday.

Twin Falls BLM crews say the Cottonwood Fire, which is burning 1.5 miles south of Dietrich, Idaho, is expected to be controlled by 8:00 p.m. Monday.

According to BLM, the fire has scorched 1,100 acres as of Sunday evening. No structures have been threatened.

The cause is still under investigation.
