Neighbors relieved as crews control Willow Creek Fire
EAGLE, Idaho (KBOI) - Some people were worried as flames came across the hills towards homes near Brookside Lane in Eagle. Crews were able to contain the flames, but not before it burned 250 acres.

Fire fighters think it started around 1am Wednesday as lightning came through the area. Although it wasn't called in until 9:30 am when the wind picked up and it began to spread quicker.

Several residents were nervous as they saw the flames creeping over the hill towards their homes. Especially those who had animals near the site.

"The fire man that went by I said do we need to evacuate. He said no it's voluntary. I said you know my animals are so important I should get them out immediately."

Fire fighters from Eagle, Star, Boise BLM were able to get full containment on the blaze by 10 pm Wednesday night. Those same crews were able to stop the fire from getting near homes early in the day. The fire continued to grow up into open range away from structures.
