GARDEN CITY, Idaho -- A Garden City girl is in critical condition after she was hit by a truck on Friday night while crossing a downtown street.
Garden City Police Officials said that an 8-year-old girl was walking downtown with family members on Friday when at around 8 p.m. she tried to cross Adams St. at the intersection of E 42nd.
She was hit by a 1983 Dodge truck driven by a 35-year-old Garden City man. The girl sustained significant injuries in the crash and was taken to Boise Hospital. Officials said she is listed in critical condition.
Officers said that the driver, who was on his way to work, did not appear to be intoxicated during the incident. Police have not filed charges against the man.
Garden City PD and Boise Police are reconstructing the accident for an investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Garden City Police Department at (208) 472-2950.
