Two guns found at Boise Airport security in less than a week

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - These aren't allowed on your flight.

The Transportation Security Administration said Tuesday that officers discovered two loaded firearms in less than a week at the security checkpoint at the Boise Airport.

On Thursday, TSA says officers found a .45 caliber loaded with six rounds of ammo. The owner of the gun, who was on his way to San Francisco, was cited for weapons aboard an aircraft.

Over the weekend, the TSA says screeners then found a .25 caliber pistol loaded with eight rounds of ammo. The passenger was cited by Boise Police for possession of a firearm at security checkpoint. A total of six guns have been found through security checkpoints since the beginning of the year.

Earlier this summer, TSA officials found a stun gun in a passenger's belongings.

In addition to the local or state charges, the TSA typically levies a civil penalty against the passenger, which can range from $3,000-7,500.
