BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- Morning commuters be advised; a dense fog advisory is in effect in the Treasure Valley until 11 a.m Monday.
After driving in Downtown Boise, visibility appeared to be about a quarter mile, but in Eagle and Meridian, drivers say visibility was only a couple car lengths. Photos
The Ada County Sheriff's office said there six crashes Monday morning, and eight to 10 fog-related crashes in Canyon County.
AAA says, "driving in dense fog can feel like driving while wearing a blindfold."
The motor club's most important tips for driving in the fog are; driving slowly and turning on low-beam headlights.
The Idaho Transportation Department driving manual says drivers are required to turn on their headlights in the daylight when vision is reduced to 500 feet or less. It also mentions if visibility is poor, drivers should not use their hazard lights when driving, instead pull way over and stop.
