Idaho issues permit for oil equipment megaload

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - The Idaho Department of Transportation has issued a permit for an oversized load of oil production equipment to move through the state.

Spokesman Adam Rush says the agency on Friday issued the permit to Omega Morgan to move the nearly 800,000-pound load that's 382 feet long.

Rush says the load could enter Idaho late Saturday or early Sunday morning depending on weather conditions. He says delays are possible on southern and eastern Idaho highways. The load is authorized to move between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The shipment is headed for Montana and then Fort McMurray in Alberta for use in the oil sands.

Rush says it's taking the same route through Idaho as two previous Omega Morgan shipments.
