KBOI-TV, CW to begin broadcasting on new antennas

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - We have exciting news for people who watch KBOI and the CW on over-the-air television.
On Thursday, Aug. 30, KBOI 2 and the CW will begin broadcasting on new antennas. We’ll be sending out the best signal, covering more area in the Treasure Valley than ever before.
That means better reception and clearer pictures at home of KBOI News and your favorite CBS shows. The CW will also be in HD.
We’re still on the same over the air channels; KBOI-TV on channel 2.1 and the CW on channel 2.2. But in order to receive these new and improved signals, you must rescan your TV or search for channels again.
So, don’t forget, rescan Aug. 30. This does not affect cable or satellite viewers.

I can't seem to get cbs or cw on my tvs hooked to my attic antenna, I get all the other channels with full strength. Â I live in Middleton and only one tv in my basement with a regular antenna gets cbs. Â ANd that only if I move it to a special cbs only position. at which time I lose all other channels, however, no matter where I put the attic antenna I am unable to receive your signal. Â any ideas?

One more update for TiVo users:Â you may have to have your TiVo contact the service to get the update.
I did that and everything is where it should be and my season passes all work again!
Ok, folks, after several calls and emails to KBOI and TiVo, I think the problem has been fixed at TiVo's end. They had to get an update to their program guide to recognize that KBOI changed physical frequencies from Ch 28 to CH 9.  The whole process is more convoluted than I care to include here, but suffice it to say that it takes several days and probably involves TiVO, KBOI and Tribune Media Services (the listing guides company).
Â
For the guy with the rabbit ears on his treadmill TV, you probably need a different antenna, as the change was from UHF (little antennas) to VHF (larger antennas). The VHF signal has much better coverage, but a lot of small, indoor antennas do NOT work well on it.  You may have the same problem with Ch 7, 9 and 12, as they're on VHF as well.
WHEW...what a process.  I finally got it to work in Windows Media Center so I have a picture and the guide info synced. What a process! I think you needed to have more support for making this transition! I have missed several of my shows due to this transition!
After the channel change, I was able to rescan my Tivo and my Digital TVs. However the channel guide information is missing! No program information for me to set my Tivo to record to, nor can I see what is on my Digital TVs other than "To Be Announced". Come on Channel 2, fix this stuff!
We have TIVO but after scanning, we no longer have a Channel 2 connection.
I lost channel 2 after the rescan. I thought it was suspose to be better. I live in Melba, not far away. How can I get it back?
I rescanned as recommended and lost CBS as well. I have channel 6 and BSU butt kissers channel 7. Please save me and fix what wasn't broke for me.
I have my TV on an roof antenea and was able to rescan and get channel 2 and 2.2. But when I rescanned on my treadmill TV hooked up to just rabitt ears I lost them both. How do I get them back?
Even after rescanning I do NOT get your signal anymore here near Shoshone, ID. Â I still get channel 6. Â Are you still on RF channel 28? Â Did you reduce power? Â Before today you always came very strong!!
I have tivo DVR and I re scan it and it did not work so went to the lest if ant channels lest and I had to cheek the 2 new channels and now I am getting it now thanks guys
Lost your signal at Ola.
Great, I re-scan, and now I don't get CBS at all. FIX THIS! How do I get the channels back?Â
 @justen do you have tivo?
@Jdowg  @justen  How does tivo help if you can't get the channel to begin with????
they have changed thechannel that they broadcast on. they moved from rf 28 to rf 9. that is why we need to do a rescan to get the new signal.
@Mike Dorman Thanks Mike for the heads up. I didn't know they changed RF to 9. After deleting the settings in Media Center on the computer, I manually added 2.1 with the new frequency and got it back. Unfortunately, I lost show listings until Microsoft gets the new data. Thank goodness for titantv.com
@BikingTech  @Mike Dorman Windows media center will let you Merge the previous listings to the new channel on RF9. To do this right click on the channel number in the guide. Then clock "Edit channel". Then go to "Edit Listings" Scroll down to find the original RF28 listing. Click it. This should work, I found I had to then make sure both my tuners were or RF9 for this channel to do this follow the previous steps and instead of "Edit Listings" Click on "Edit Sources". Make sure the tuner for the channel is on RF9. I hope this helps.
@Mike Dorman It's too bad they moved to a VHF channel.  UHF is always better.  I do not get the new RF channel here at all now; and I did so like the 4:30 CBS news!  Oh well...
Â
Why do I need to re-scan? Could your reporters/newsreaders ask the engineers for an explanation and more details? Thanks.
There is nothing on CW that is worthy of HD signals..........
I hate KBOI having the CW as I have to watch a really crappy picture quality on my HDTV. I'd much rather they drop it and allow me to get a clean signal through Directv's CW channel. Thanks for being selfish KBOI. How about not carrying the channel if you don't have the equipment to deliver it with top quality?
@Bobby Sharps "The CW will also be in HD." Did you miss that part?
