Man who drove drunk that caused deadly crash wanted by IDOC
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - The stepfather of a young girl who was killed after the SUV her family was traveling in crashed into the water at Arrowrock Reservoir is now wanted by the Idaho Department of Correction.

David Persons was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison last year, however, a judge suspended his sentence and ordered him released March 13.

The IDOC says Persons, 32, is wanted for failing to maintain contact with his probation officer. Persons is believed to be in the Treasure Valley.

Officials say Persons was drunk at the time of the crash.

The Boise County Sheriff's Office says Pearl Sittner, 4, of Boise, was in the SUV with four other family members when it went off the road and slid 90 feet down an embankment before stopping.

The girl's parents were able to get two other children out of the SUV, but were unable to reach Pearl before the SUV broke loose and slid another 60 feet down the embankment into the water.

He has a violent history including convictions for battery on a law enforcement officer and arson.

Persons, 32, has brown hair, hazel eyes and a fair complexion. He is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 215 pounds. He has distinctive tattoos on his forearms and hands.
