Police: Daughter charged with murder after killing mother
NAMPA, Idaho - A 40-year-old Nampa woman is facing murder charges after authorities say she killed her mother late Tuesday night.

At about 11 p.m., Nampa Police Officers responded to a disturbance in the 4400 block of Long Valley Place. When officers arrived, they found 40-year-old Kelly Singh, who was uncooperative and had blood on her clothing.

Officers entered the home and found 69-year-old Ruth Ann Collins in a bedroom suffering from head trauma. Medics were immediately called and the victim was transported to Saint Alphonsus. Collins died shortly after midnight. (Photos from the Scene >>>)

The Ada County Coroner's office says Collins died from blunt force trauma to the head. Prosecutors say Singh used a hammer in the alleged attack.

Officers took Singh into custody at the scene. Singh has been charged with first degree murder and is being held in the Canyon County Jail.

Singh was arraigned in Canyon County court Wednesday afternoon.
