OWYHEE COUNTY, Idaho (KBOI) -- A Treasure Valley man reported missing since early Friday morning in the Owyhee Mountains has been found.

Sgt. Gary Olson with the Owyhee County Sheriff's Office told KBOI 2News that officials had been looking for 32-year-old John Martineau, who was reported missing at about 1 a.m. by his girlfriend.

He apparently wrote a Facebook message saying he was planning to head into the Owyhee Mountains to drive around and explore and to call for help if he wasn't back by nighttime.

A friend of Martineau's told KBOI 2News that friends spent much of the day looking for him but found him this afternoon. His vehicle had apparently gotten stuck and were in the process of digging him out. The sheriff's office says he was found at about 3 p.m. and "everything was OK."

The sheriff's office sent a search plane to the area he was said to be heading -- Wilson Creek and Chipmunk Meadows, which is about 12 miles north of Murphy Thursday morning, but were unable to see him or his vehicle.

It's been a busy couple of days for deputies. On Wednesday, a 21-year-old woman was killed after a vehicle rolled off a ridge in an SUV.
