Police investigating shooting in S. Idaho

JEROME, Idaho (AP) - Police in south-central Idaho are continuing to investigate a shooting that left a Gooding man in critical condition.

Police in Jerome tell The Times-News in a story on Saturday that Daniel Young was dropped off at St. Luke's in Jerome at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday with a gunshot wound to his head.

Police say 22-year-old Daniel Ritter dropped off Young and then quickly left. Police took him into custody a short time later.

Ritter has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, eluding an officer, possession of a concealed weapon without a permit, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Young was later transferred to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

Jerome Police Chief Dan Hall says circumstances of the shooting aren't clear.
