EAGLE, Idaho (KBOI)  -- The driver who hit the back of a school bus Thursday and then took off has confessed to police, the Ada County Sheriff's Office says.

Officials say one student was on the bus but was not injured when the SUV hit the bus near Linder Road and West Sagurio Street in Eagle at about 9 a.m. Thursday.

"Thanks to public attention, woman who drove SUV into school bus Thursday morning & took off called Eagle Police last night and confessed," the sheriff's office Tweeted.

The driver, who has not been identified, has yet to be charged. The crash is still under investigation.
