Three-car crash kills Middleton man, injures 3

CALDWELL, Idaho (KBOI) - A Middleton man has died following a three-car crash in Canyon County Sunday afternoon.

The Canyon County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened at the intersection of Highway 20/26 and Midland Boulevard, east of Caldwell, just before 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

According to deputies, the 81-year-old man was driving north on Midland Boulevard and failed to yield to crossing traffic from a stop sign and pulled into the path of a pickup truck traveling east on Highway 20/26. The truck then hit a mini-van head-on that was going west on the highway.

The Canyon County Sheriff's Office says four people were hurt and taken to the hospital. Deputies say the 81-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries, and later died. His female passenger has serious, life-threatening injuries.

The 81-year-old man's name isn't being released yet.

Idaho State Police and the Canyon County Sheriff's Office are continuing their investigation at this time.
