Veterans Day events and promotions

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Here is a list of all the events and promotions going on to honor the service of our veterans this weekend:

Saturday

•  10 a.m. - Annual Veterans Day Parade in downtown Boise.  The oldest veteran residing in the Boise Veteran Home, 98-year-old Peter S. Contos, will participate in the parade. Information
•  10 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Homeless Veterans Stand Down. The Boise VA Medical Center is offering free clothes, free medical screenings, free food and much more to veterans who are homeless. More info
•  Noon - Celebration to honor the 237th birthday of the United States Marine Corps at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Boise.
•  Noon and 7 p.m. - Annual Marine Corps Birthday Celebration at Quinn's Resaurant and Lounge in Boise. Cake cutting ceremonies at the times listed.
•  1 p.m. - The Acoustical Guitars group from the 25th Army Band will provide roaming music at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Boise.

Sunday 

•  8 a.m. - 12 p.m. - 11th Annual Pancake Breakfast at the Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa.
•  11 a.m. - Veterans Day ceremony at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Boise.  The ceremony will honor all military veterans, with a special emphasis this year on residents of the home who are veterans of the Korean War.  Those veterans will receive  Department of Defense Certificates of Appreciation. 
• 11 a.m. - Veterans Day program by the memorial wall in front of old City Hall in Caldwell.

Monday

    CWI observance ceremonies on all three campuses throughout the day.  More info
    11 a.m. - Veterans Day ceremony at Bronco Stadium at BSU. More info

   Be sure to call your local branch of these businesses to confirm they are participating.

    Applebees: Free Applebees Signature Entree on November 11.

    Golden Corral: Free dinner between 4pm - 9pm. on November 12.

    Hooters: 10 free boneless wings with the purchase of a drink on November 12.

    Olive Garden: Free entree on November 11.

    Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin Onion appetizer and drink on November 11 and November 12.

    Sizzler: Free Lunch on November 12. Choose from 6 oz. steak, Malibu Chicken, or Half Dozen Fried Shrimp.

    Famous Dave's Barbeque is offering a free meal to Veterans  on November 11.

    Metro Express Car Wash: Free car wash to veterans on November 11.

    Heritage Auto Repair in Meridian offering free oil changes to veterans on November 9.
