BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Major downtown roadways are closed as crews set up for the Zions Bank Building official opening celebration. It will also feature a free concert by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Main Street is closed from 9th St. down to Capitol, and 8th St. will be closed from Idaho St. to Main St.

Many said they are excited about the day of events, and especially concert.

For many who have lived in Boise for awhile it's more of a celebration of finally having a new building downtown. While saying a long overdue goodbye to the pit.

For some it's hard to explain to people from out of time what it used to be like.

"So long too, they are just like what do you mean it was a pit," said Hannah Wynn of Boise. "They don't quite get it so it's good to finally be able to say there is nothing there."

The celebration will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and continue into 6:30 p.m. when the Goo Goo Dolls will take the stage.
