Former Cal quarterback Joe Ayoob set a new world record on Sunday when he threw a paper airplane 226 feet, 10 inches.

The distance broke the previous record of 207 feet, 4 inches, according to ESPN.

"We made all 10 [official] throws. The record came on the fourth throw," Ayoob told ESPN. "I probably made 50 throws on the day. My body is still sore."

According to The Telegraph, the plane was made from a single sheet of A4 paper and a very small piece of sticky tape.

The plane was designed by John Collins, who has been designing paper airplanes since he was a child and has been trying to break the world record for several years, ESPN reported.
