LAS VEGAS- The Mountain West Conference had a stipulation in its invite to Boise State for membership last year, and it didn't take long to get fans fired up. The Broncos will not be allowed to wear their iconic blue on blue uniforms this season when playing Mountain West opponents in Bronco Stadium.

"Our presidents had heard from people on their campus that it's a competitive advantage and that's part of the deal," according to Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson.  The rule began as a complaint from coaches that filtered up to athletic directors and then school presidents to be a condition of inclusion to the conference.

Boise State is 77-2 since 1999 on the blue turf at Bronco Stadium, and for years opposing fans and coaches have mentioned the difficulty in seeing the all blue uniforms on the blue turf.
