Barone sets Vandal record, Idaho beats UTSA

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Kyle Barone scored 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds and Idaho outlasted Texas-San Antonio 74-70 on Saturday night.
Barone was 10-10 from the field, an Idaho single-game efficiency record. He also had three blocked shots for Idaho (8-11, 4-5 Western Athletic).
His 16 rebounds pushed him over 750 as a Vandal, and Barone became the first basketball player in Idaho history to have more than 1,000 points, 750 rebounds, 100 steals and blocks in a career.
Idaho's Connor Hill scored 15 points, including 4 of 9 baskets from 3-point range. Stephen Madison chipped in with 13 points.
Michael Hale III scored 21 points and had seven assists for Idaho (5-14, 1-8).
Kannon Burrage scored 16 points and Hyjii Thomas and Edrico McGregor finished with 10 points each. Jordan Sims grabbed 11 rebounds.
The numbers were a virtual dead heat in most of the team categories. Idaho had a 32-20 scoring advantage in the paint, but UTSA had a 17-2 scoring advantage off turnovers.
