Boise's Brian Scott signed by Childress racing
Boise Native Brian Scott has signed a multi-year agreement with Richard Childress Racing, and will drive the No. 2 Shore Lodge Chevrolet in the 2013 Nascar Nationwide Series.

Scott, 24, was dumped by Joe Gibbs racing in November, after a ninth-place finish in the 2012 Nationwide standings - his second top-ten finish since joining the Nationwide Series in 2010.

"I am thrilled to have this opportunity to drive the No. 2 Shore Lodge Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing in the Nationwide Series,” Scott said in a press release.

“RCR has proven over the past 13 years that it can build and prepare winning cars in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and has for a variety of drivers. I just want to be the next name on that list."

McCall, Idaho's Shore Lodge returns as Scott's primary sponsor for a second time in three seasons. Shore Lodge was a secondary sponsor for Scott's No. 11 Dollar General Toyota in 2012.

"Brian has a longstanding history with Shore Lodge, spending many years vacationing here," Shore Lodge General Manager Dan Scott said in a statement.

"He's our version of a hometown hero and we're thrilled to have him representing our town on a national scale."

As it turns out, Scott trades places with Eliot Sadler - who was released by Richard Childress Racing and recently signed with Joe Gibbs Racing.
