Five errors by the short-handed Boise Hawks helped the Vancouver Canadians win the Northwest League Championship for the third straight year Monday in Vancouver, Canada.

Short seven players due to passport or visa issues, including two of the team's best players, the Hawks managed just four hits in Monday's decisive game three.

Boise centerfielder Kevin Encarnacion misplayed a third inning fly ball from L.B. Dantzler which scored two.

The Hawks were unable to take advantage of a leadoff double in the seventh by Rony Rodriguez, who ended the inning stranded on third base.

Vancouver picked up three runs in the eighth off Hawks reliever Zach Godley, and put the Hawks down in order to win the game in the top of the ninth.

Boise finished 41-35 in its first year under Manager Gary Van Tol. It marked the 13th Championship Series for the Hawks, with Boise now 6-7 in those - including losses in 2006, 2012 and 2013.
