FRESNO, Calif. - Boise State men’s tennis collected a host of honors Wednesday night when the Mountain West Conference announced its postseason awards at the championship banquet in Fresno, Calif.

Among the student-athletes recognized by the league are five Broncos, seniors Andy Bettles and Nathan Sereke, as well as Garrett Patton, Thomas Tenreiro and Brendan McClain. All five were named to the 2014 All-MW team as voted on by the conference’s eight head coaches.

Andy Bettles earned postseason honors for the fourth year in a row and the fifth and sixth awards of his career. The senior from Somerset, England, was named to the Mountain West All-Conference team for both singles and doubles. He finished the regular season last Saturday with a 23-14 singles mark while playing most of the dual season at No. 1 in the lineup.

In doubles he went 23-7 while competing the majority of the season with sophomore Thomas Tenreiro as they split time on courts one and two during spring duals. Bettles’ previous postseason honors include: 2011 Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, 2012 All-MW in singles, as well as 2013 All-MW honors in singles and doubles.

Senior Nathan Sereke is also a repeat honoree this year earning All-Mountain West recognition for singles. The native of Stockholm, Sweden, went 15-12 overall and 15-10 in duals while playing primarily on court two. He earned MW Player of the Week honors on March 26. Sereke is not a stranger to postseason recognition having earned all-conference doubles honors three times 2011-13, in addition to All-MW singles recognition last year.

Thomas Tenreiro also earned All-Mountain West honors in doubles for his play with partner Andy Bettles. The duo went 18-6 together and 16-5 in duals matches. The Tenreiro and Bettles tandem went 7-1 at No. 1 -- including 3-0 at No. 1 in MW play -- and 9-4 on court two. The sophomore went 21-7 in doubles competition on the year. This is the first postseason honor for Tenreiro who is from Miami, Fla.

Junior Garrett Patton and freshman Brendan McClain were named to the all-conference team for their doubles play going 16-10 together on the year and 9-8 during spring duals, playing primarily at No. 1. These are the first postseason honors for either player.

The Broncos open the Mountain West Championship tournament at Fresno as the No. 1 seed and will face the Utah State Aggies Thursday morning in the quarterfinal round.
