Boise native NASCAR driver Brian Scott will make his Sprint Cup Series debut October 12 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in the No. 33 Shore Lodge Chevrolet.

The Boise High School grad has spent the last three seasons on the NASCAR Nationwide Series, this year for Richard Childress Racing. Scott has one pole award, three top-five and 12 top-ten finishes in the 2013 race season. He is seventh in the Nationwide Series standings.

“I’m really looking forward to making my Sprint Cup Series debut at Charlotte Motor Speedway,” Scott said in a press release.

“It’s something I’ve dreamed about since I got into racing. It’ll be a great opportunity and I’m so thankful to everyone at Shore Lodge and Richard Childress Racing for putting this together and giving me the chance to compete against the greatest competitors in our sport.”

“Brian has been doing great with us this year in the Nationwide Series and it’s always good to see young talent coming up in our sport," said Richard Childress.

"He has shown he’s qualified to try his hand in the Sprint Cup Series and we’re looking forward to having him in that race."

The Bank of America 500 begins at 5:30 M.T. on October 12 and will be broadcast on ABC.

Scott will also drive the 300-mile Nationwide Series race at Charlotte October 11 in his No. 2 Chevrolet Camero.
